<Sumin Is in Trouble>

 Sumin is Junho's classmate. He enjoys using social media with a smartphone. Today, Sumin is in the hospital. He was hit by a car on his way home yesterday. He is so sick that he can't move easily. But his phone is ringing a lot because of advertising messages. These continuous messages are frustrating him. But the worse thing is that the school police officers went to see his mom and told her he should be investigated for cyberbullying.

 What happened to Sumin? Let's find out.

 

<Sumin's Yesterday>

 After school, Sumin and Junho had to clean the classroom. But Sumin played with his smartphone instead. Junho got angry and told the teacher who was very strict. The teacher told Sumin to clean the classroom for another month. Sumin was upset because another month seemed too much. On his way home, he used social media as he always did. He visited Junho's social media site. He wrote many bad words about Junho and invited many of his friends to do the same. And then, he felt better. Then, he began to look at others' postings and found an advertisement which said "Sign up! We will give you a gift." But as soon as he wrote all of his information, he was hit by a car. Because of using social media, he did not see the car which was coming.

 

<Tips to Be a Smart User of Social Media>

 Keep in mind three things. Then, you will not be investigated, get lots of advertising messages, or be hit by a car like Sumin was.

1. Try to write good things about others! It is bad to hurt others' feelings online because it can be cyberbullying.

2. Be careful when you write your personal information on social media. It is very dangerous because the information can be used by others.

3. Don't use social media when you walk. It is important to look in front of you because, by doing so, you can avoid dangerous situations.

<수민이는 위기에 처해 있다>

 수민이는 준호의 반 친구이다. 그는 스마트폰으로 소셜 미디어 사용하는 것을 즐긴다. 오늘, 수민이는 입원 중이다. 어제 집에 가는 길에 차에 치였다. 수민이는 너무 아파서 쉽게 움직일 수가 없다. 그런데 광고 문자 때문에 그의 전화가 많이 울리고 있다. 이 계속되는 문자 때문에 수민이는 짜증이 나고 있다. 하지만 더 나쁜 일은 학교 전담 경찰관들이 수민이의 엄마를 보러 가서 수민이가 사이버 폭력으로 조사를 받아야 한다고 말했다는 점이다.

 방과 후에, 수민이와 준호는 교실을 청소해야 했다. 하지만 수민이는 (청소) 대신 스마트폰을 가지고 놀았다. 준호는 화가 나서 매우 엄격하신 선생님께 말씀드렸다. 선생님은 수민이에게 다음 달에도 교실 청소를 하라고 말씀하셨다. 수민이는 한 달이나 더 하는 것은 너무한 것 같아서 화가 났다. 집에 오는 길에, 그는 항상 그랬듯이 소셜 미디어를 사용했다. 수민이는 준호의 소셜 미디어 사이트에 방문했다. 그는 준호에 관해 많은 욕을 썼고 다른 많은 친구들에게도 같은 일을 하도록 초대했다. 그러고 나자 기분이 좀 나아졌다. 그런 다음, 그는 다른 사람들의 포스팅을 읽기 시작했고, “가입하세요! 선물을 드릴게요!”라는 광고를 발견했다. 하지만 (가입에 필요한) 그의 모든 정보를 다 입력하자마자, 그는 차에 치였다. 소셜 미디어의 사용 때문에, 그는 다가오고 있던 차를 보지 못했던 것이다.

 

<소셜 미디어의 현명한 사용자가 되기 위한 조언>

 세 가지만 명심하라. 그러면 당신은 수민이처럼 조사를 받지도, 많은 광고 문자를 받지도, 차에 치이지도 않을 것이다.

1. 다른 사람들에 관해 좋은 것을 쓰도록 노력하라! 온라인에서 다른 사람들의 감정을 다치게 하는 것은 나쁜데, 왜냐하면 그것은 사이버 폭력이 될 수 있기 때문이다.

2. 여러분의 개인 정보를 소셜 미디어에 쓸 때는 조심하라. 그것은 매우 위험한데, 왜냐하면 그 정보가 다른 사람들에 의해 이용될 수 있기 때문이다.

3. 걸을 때는 소셜 미디어를 사용하지 마라. 앞을 보는 것은 중요한데, 왜냐하면 그렇게 함으로써 여러분은 위험한 상황을 피할 수 있기 때문이다.
